1896 Gallery was established in November 2014, following the thoughtful conversion of Boat of Garten’s historic public hall, dated 1896. We’re proud to say that the building continues to be a vibrant hub for the local community and a welcoming destination for visitors from near and far.
The gallery was created to celebrate Scotland’s breathtaking landscapes through the work of Scottish-based artists and resident photographer James Gordon, alongside an inspiring selection of 3D creations by talented artisans and craftmakers. This blend of visual art and handcrafted work offers a feast for the senses—one that we hope will ignite the imagination and stir the soul.
Our artist pages showcase the current collection, complete with details on size, media, and pricing. If something captures your interest, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—we’re always happy to help.
All the best,
Mairi and James Gordon
